Why does it seem so hard for me to keep a constant high vibe and instead find myself in a low vibe?
Indeed, why do we give our attention to / allow our attention to be captivated by the things around us that we don’t like, especially given the fact that when we do, we are literally saying to the law of attraction, don’t bring me what I want, bring me more of this thing I don’t like.
Imagine going into a restaurant and looking at the menu, you could have anything you want but you pick something you do not like. You wouldn’t do that! But essentially, many times, we do this in every day life, we can attract anything we like, but instead of sending an order to the law of attraction for what we want, we look at what is going on around us, our current circumstances of things we don’t like, get emotionally hooked into them, let them get our attention and thus send out an order to the law of attraction to send us more. Do you have things in your life you don’t like and they are not changing. If so this is exactly why. Is there someone who annoys you? Do you have money challenges? Relationship challenges? People rude to you? Do things breakdown like your car? Do you get unexpected bills? Is your job unsatisfying? These things just don’t show up in your life randomly, they are there because they match a vibration that you are offering to the law of attraction.
So why do we do this, order the law of attraction to bring what we don’t like rather than what we do? Let’s first look at what we knew at the time we came to this planet, came into these physical bodies. We knew who we are and we knew we are the creator of our reality, that we can be, do and have what we want. We also knew that we would discover what we want from our experiences, when we don’t like something it is the reason to want something different. This can be referred to as contrast. Contrast is natural and what allows us to expand and grow. We knew that contrast was no big deal, it just helped us to shift our focus to what we want and have it manifest.
BUT, as we grew up, the people around us who forgot why they came, they instilled in us, faulty and limiting beliefs about life. The kind of beliefs that cause us to think crazy things like we are not good enough, not deserving, that there is a limited supply that we must compete for, that we have to make things happen if they are going to happen, but nothing is guaranteed because whether we get what we want depends on many things around us and other people. The faulty and limiting beliefs are many and deep and so they strongly influence our thinking. And as we think those limiting and faulty thoughts, they become habits and that means they literally get wired into our brain, although they are not permanent they can be rewired. What also happens is that our beliefs cause us to attract things we don’t want and without understanding what is really going on, why these things are showing up, we start to develop other “bad” attitudes and beliefs about life, causing us to look at the outside world as “bad”, unfair etc and having negative thoughts about it, feeling kind of powerless.
So the summary of why we allow “things” to get our attention in a negative way is this 1) we are just so practiced and trained to react in the same old negative ways, which is usually rooted in blame and fear, from the faulty and limiting beliefs 2) we do not really totally trust in our creative power (or even that we have one) so we can feel vulnerable which causes us to be defensive (all low vibe) 3) we have no education, process or methods that help us to catch and turn this negative energy to positive 4) we don’t really relate the fact that negative reactions / energy are low vibrations that cause the attraction of more of the same, the vast majority of people tend to think that emotions are generally free, that is, there is no lasting repercussion from them outside of the immediate circumstances. But of course there is much more of a repercussion than the immediate circumstance, we have just sent out another order to the law of attraction for the same type of experience.
